They met and loved fiercely
As if there would be
No tomorrow for them
They bound themselves in
Wedlock as they exchanged
Fragrant floral garlands.
Then Dushyanta said
He had to return
Palace and court awaited him
Urgent regal macho duties
The adorable woman who had set
His blood ablaze with desire
Receded into the depths of oblivion
The palace mesmerized the king
As Durvasaβs curse cast a spell
The days rolled
Shakuntala wept inconsolably
Alas, absent-minded Dushyanta had
Pressed the delete key.
Dushyanta ridiculed Shakuntala abominably
As she claimed him as her spouse
Belittled like Sita she withdrew
To her maternal home
Shakuntala was a single mother now.
When at last sighting the
Regal ring smelling of fish
Dushyanta emerged from the
Depths of oblivion, apologizing
Shakuntala and her son graciously
Welcomed him, they winked
Amusedly, doubling with laughter
As sage Durvasa winked back.

Had Durvasa Rishi not shown his Augustine anger
Had Rishi Durvasa not created illusion of fervour
Had Durvasa Rishi not stuck to his whimsical curse
Had Rishi Durvasa not deluged the LOVE-LORN with an unidentified curse
The Oblivion with its insanity had been like an Omen
The Oblivion had got its haunted curse cause wreck
The Oblivion had never given Bharat to the current Bhaarat
The Oblivion had never come as memoir of flashback
The magnanimous Dushyanta had never been in redeeming rendition
The prowess Shakuntala had never determined her pangs in redemption
The visionary Durvasa had never been daunting to the unforgiving condition
The fortunate Bharat the son had never been aware of her Mother's resurrection
The red notice to Oblivion was a time-tested divine play
The red-notice to Oblivion stood the time-bound divine stay
The red-notice to Oblivion found its comfort to have its stand-by
The red-notice to Oblivion lived its crossing of crossover to decry
The red-notice to Oblivion in the form of curse was an illusionary lie
To let Oblivious state be a pattern to perpetuate call of bond
To let Oblivious crisis be a return to trail the trial of bond
To let Oblivious mind of Dushyanta be in denial of being fond of his desires
To let the Oblivious designs be like MENTORING Shakuntala for the fondly desires.
To let the Oblivious cursive for Lovers to be in fake trance of Rishi Durvasaβs Liarβs paradox.
