Gender studies examines patriarchy from both dimensions of gender that is socially culturally cultivated ideas on one hand, while on the other hand its evaluates the reasons of roles, actions, responsibilities in view of work force and human development, instead of much attention to social-cultural human capital, which is customised most of the times by legacy and traditional expectations, and this all is far from contemporary reality of the socio-psycho matrix of machine age and mechanised life. In present times, life is at war in surrealistic sense, in which human ego struggles with three primordial needs - eat, sleep and sex, which is very much contrary to the inner and outer realm made of expectations and of reality structure, which is very fragile and fragmented, fights with its ego to tap traditional ethos or to live in terms of real truths. Such contradictions have also redefined masculine and feminine energies per se gender studies, that have not surely been into ransformation, rather into transcreation of new self. Read the novels of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni to understand - gender in troubled shores - due to different predicaments.
